Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce is collecting items and supplies for the cities on the West Coast of Florida that have been affected by Hurricane Ian.
Cindy Brief, president and CEO of the Chamber, said chamber treasurer and board member John Biggie of JBI Building and Developers is spearheading the effort.
“The Chamber is assisting him in getting the word out so that we can help our neighbors on the West Coast,” she added.
The Parkland Chamber of Commerce is also lending a hand, urging residents to collect much-needed items for those affected by one of the worst storms the state has seen.
“In the state of Florida, and certainly in our local business community, coming together to support one another is the collective hug that is needed in times like this,” said the Parkland Chamber’s Board of Directors in a statement.
The items needed include non-perishable food and bottled water, peanut butter crackers and protein and granola bars (without chocolate), Boost and Ensure protein drinks, Pedialyte and Gatorade, personal hygiene items and feminine products, clothes, towels, blankets, and pillows; toilet paper and paper towels, diapers, baby wipes, and canned or powdered milk, First Aid Kits, solar cell phone chargers, cleaning supplies and heavy duty garbage bags.
The Chamber is accepting the items at Corporate Park, located at 3740 NW 125 Ave. in Coral Springs, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 954-786-0266.
