Same menu, same Mexican and Latin flare, but one step inside their new restaurant reveals something very different.

Formerly known for their delicious food in an unusual location, Los Bocados is no longer positioned inside the Chevron gas station.

A mere 150 steps over, situated in between Starbucks and Puppy Plus, fans of the local eatery will find its new home at the Northwest corner of State Road 7 and Hillsboro Boulevard inside the Shoppes of Parkland.

Co-owners and chefs Robby Bushman and Anthony Hoff have had plans to expand since opening in 2016.

After appearing on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives in November, Los Bocados (meaning “snacks” or “bites” in Spanish) developed an even bigger following for their citrus pork quesadillas and barbecue brisket tostadas.

“We’ve just been so busy – it’s unbelievable,” said Bushman, of residents flocking to the new storefront since their soft opening on April 19. “The community has supported us as always in an amazing way.”

Anticipating a grand opening sometime in June, for now, Bushman said they are thrilled people get to hang out a little. Their previous set-up was just grab-and-go.

At 1,600 square feet, the new location is almost four times the original’s size, which occupied a mere 437 square feet inside the gas station.

“It’s nice to be able to watch people enjoy a beer,” Bushman said.

Although there aren’t any indoor tables, the new restaurant some outside seating.

“We were going to try to squeeze some chairs in here, but with a line out the door on the weekends, there’s not a lot of space,” said Hoff.

When Covid hit and the men were told they had to take out their tables, the owners decided to implement to-go only.

“After that, we just kind of stuck to it,” said Bushman.

With the larger commissary-style kitchen, they look forward to more catering, special parties and larger events, because they now have space.

The kitchen will also help supply some of the food to their next Los Bocados, scheduled to open in July on Glades and Federal in Boca Raton.

Los Bocados is located at 7031 North State Road 7 in Parkland. Hours are Monday to Saturday 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. and Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. 965-637-4984
