As facilities begin to reopen amid lifting COVID-19 restrictions, The Parkland Library will be available for book browsing.
Beginning Wednesday, October 14, Parkland residents will once again be welcomed into the newly renovated library with CDC guidelines in place.
City Manager Nancy Morando said over the last six months, the Parkland library has remained very popular with residents utilizing online checkout of materials with curbside pick-up.
“The next, safe step is to reopen gradually, and we’re starting with book browsing and checkout in blocks of hours that enable our staff to complete proper sanitation in between,” she said.
Inside the Parkland library, staff, patrons, and children ages two and up must wear a mask at all times. There will be other rules to abide by including limiting capacity to 50 percent capacity while maintaining a six-foot distance between individuals or families.
Although the library will be open, certain spaces will not yet be available, such as computers, printers, meeting rooms, tutoring, and any other in-person programming. Tables will be available for solo studying only.
Hours for book browsing are Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Curbside pickup is available Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
