Parkland is getting a whole lot suite’er as 41 salon professionals prepare to open their doors.
Formerly home to Crunch Gym, the collection of upscale beauty and wellness rooms is now occupied by hairstylists, medical professionals, lash and nail technicians, estheticians, permanent make-up artists, and more.
Following the pandemic, Parkland resident Lisa Schettino was ready for a change, making the career switch from dogs to humans. After owning the doggie daycare, grooming, and boarding facility, Camp Canine, for 21 years, she decided to open VIP Salon Suites.
A look inside the sleek, modern salon reveals sparkling chandeliers, glass walls, and elegant design. Excited to own the only salon suites in Parkland, Schettino believes the city needs this kind of business.

“This is the wave of the future,” she said, “People love having their own private space.”
Excitement has been building in the local community since construction began in March 2021. The Pine Tree Estates mother of two said the reaction she’s gotten is incredible, with so many professionals looking for suites right now.

The luxe, open concept appeals to the tenants as much as their clients.
“I love how it’s laid out,” said Chelsea Jack, owner of Color by Chelsea, who focuses on extensions and balayage.
Jack, who grew up in Parkland, has worked in Boca Raton for 15 years and was intrigued by the idea of having her own studio vibe and being able to share it with her customers.
A stylist in Coral Springs for 28 years and owner of Christina Mac hair, Christina McIntosh loves the natural light brought in through the glass, but she’s also partial to the perfect location, between her home and her children’s school.
“I had been searching for the right place, and this is definitely top-notch,” she said.
The soft opening is already underway, but the official ribbon cutting will take place on Saturday, July 30, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Residents can enjoy music and food, meet the salon professionals, tour the suites, and join the community for a champagne toast.
