With COVID-19 restrictions in place and a shortage of KN95 masks on the shelves, members of Stand with Parkland took it upon themselves to make sure local first responders were well-equipped.
On Wednesday, Stand With Parkland– The National Association of Families for Safe Schools donated KN95 masks to the Parkland unit of the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Coral Springs Police Department.
Stand with Parkland said they were honored to have the opportunity to help the men and women who secure our local school campuses.
“We would like to thank Tony Montalto, Jennifer Montalto, and Gena Hoyer from Stand with Parkland, who generously donated face masks to our district office for our First Responders,” said BSO.
According to BSO Captain Chris Mulligan, Stand with Parkland, and the BSO Parkland District have worked together since the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to ensure that school security remains a priority and the causes of such incidents continue to be examined and solutions identified.
“Our partnership with Stand With Parkland makes our community stronger and helps keep our schools safe,” said Mulligan, “It was a total surprise, and we appreciate their generosity.”
