Coconut Creek High School’s Dr. Nicole Nearor Named Semifinalist for Broward Principal of the Year

Coconut Creek High School Principal Dr. Nicole Nearor has been named a semifinalist for the 2026 Broward County Public Schools Caliber Awards Principal of the Year, an honor recognizing outstanding leadership and dedication across the district.

The annual Caliber Awards celebrate Broward’s top educators, administrators, and school leaders who exemplify excellence in education and inspire achievement within their schools. This year’s semifinalist list includes six principals from across the county, with Dr. Nearor representing Coconut Creek High among the distinguished nominees.

Dr. Nearor tells Coconut Creek Talk she takes pride in the collective effort that led to the recognition, particularly the collaboration and spirit within the Cougar community.

“This recognition is based on the dedication and commitment to excellence from my Cougar staff, scholars, and our community,” said Dr. Nearor. “Every day, I’m around and work with extraordinary young people who have the hope and the potential to make a positive impact on their communities. As the principal, it’s a privilege to lead the believing, building, and blooming of our Cougar standard of excellence.”

The 2026 Caliber Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, where the Principal of the Year winner will be announced.
