Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of incidents that occurred in Parkland through May 29.
Battery
10300 block of Camellia St. Parkland Golf & Country Club
On May 20, BSO was called on a Domestic Battery between boyfriend and girlfriend.
Burglary Conveyance
10555 Trails End. Pine Trails Park
On May 22, BSO was called to a delayed burglary to a vehicle. Items taken were a backpack with diapers, a Calvin Klein fanny pack, as well as driver side front window smashed/damaged. No suspect information and victim advised they did not want to prosecute. Negative results on obtaining latent fingerprints as well as negative results on observing surveillance cameras.
7271 N Sr 7. Riverstone Shoppes
On May 26, Victim advised person(s) unknown entered her 2007 Honda Civic and removed personal property. The vehicle was in the parking lot in front of the Crunch Fitness Gym with the doors and windows locked. Passenger window smashed, and makeup and wallet ($10.00) were removed from the floor in front of the passenger seat. No other property was taken from the vehicle.
Burglary Residence
7100 block of NW 62nd Terrace. Pine Tree Estates
On May 26, a sixteen-year-old male juvenile unlawfully entered the victim’s unoccupied house, which was under extensive renovation. The juvenile then removed a clear plastic jewelry box with miscellaneous “Origami Owl” jewelry, valued at $150 from inside the residence.
Drugs / Narcotics Offenses
5901 Pine Island Rd. Marjory Stoneman Douglas
On May 17, a juvenile student was placed under arrest for Possession of THC.
Fraud
8000 block of NW 125th Ter. Heron Bay
On April 29 and reported May 21, an unknown person(s) attempted to open an Ally Bank bank account in victim’s name without his permission.
8600 block of Waterside Ct. MiralagoOn May 22, the victim received a collection notice for a credit account opened at Kmart in New Hampshire using his information by unknown persons.
6900 block of Nw 77th St. Cypress Cay
Between April 26, and May 8, the resident stated she was a victim to identity theft. An unknown person contacted Capital One and ordered a new credit card. The card was shipped to Brooklyn, NY, and was used at an ATM to remove cash.

10600 block of NW 83rd Ct. Heron Bay
On May 17, a resident let their small dog out in the backyard, and it was attacked and taken by a coyote.
5901 Pine Island Rd. Marjory Stoneman Douglas
On May 20, an unknown juvenile posted a message on Instagram with suicidal thoughts.
11000 Holmberg Rd. Westglades Middle School
On May 17 and reported on May 20, a 7th-grade student had self-inflicted scratches on her wrist. The student was evaluated by the Henderson Mental Health YES Team, and it was determined not to fit the criteria for a Baker Act. The student was released to her mother.
6100 block of NW 88th Ave. Grand Cypress Estates
On May 19, BSO responded about an information report. The male advised that he received romantic text messages from an unknown female.
5901 Pine Island Rd. Marjory Stoneman Douglas
On May 21, during the beginning of the second period, male students engaged in a mutual altercation inside of the boys’ locker room. The physical altercation was broken up by school staff quickly, and there were no serious injuries reported. The students involved received discipline through the school in the form of out of school suspensions. No law enforcement action was necessary other than documentation because the altercation was mutual.
8200 block of NW 121st Way. Heron Bay
On May 21, a female received a letter from an inmate from a Penitentiary in PA but did not know how the inmate was able to retrieve her information. Wanted incident documented.
8500 Trotters Ln.
On May 21, BSO was dispatched to a call for service about a waste removal truck causing damage to a septic tank. The vehicle was attempting to access the portable restroom when the vehicle became stuck in the soft sand.
8000 block of Emerald Ave. Parkland Golf & Country Club
On May 21, a LIFT driver reported an altercation with LIFT customer and resident of Parkland Golf & Country Club.
7400 Parkside Dr. Riverglades Elementary
On May 22, a child age nine sustained a head injury while playing on the playground. Coral Springs/Parkland Fire Rescue transported the student to Coral Springs Medical Center for treatment.
6000 University Dr. Mary Help of Christians Catholic School
On May 23, a 12-year-old male was accidentally struck in the right side of the head, with a plastic baseball bat, while playing baseball at school. Subject suffered a small laceration which was treated by deputies before Fire Rescue arrival. The subject was later transported to Coral Springs medical center by Fire Rescue.
8900 block of W. Miralago Way. Miralago. Main Entrance Guard Gate
On May 23, there was a verbal altercation between a female resident and a female security guard at the main entrance. The security guard could not verify authorization for the guest to enter the community and initially would not grant him access.
11000 Holmberg Rd. Westglades Middle School
On May 22, information report reference a fight that occurred on campus. The incident was handled by security and administration, and there were no injuries reported.
9900 block of Rosewood St. Parkland Golf & Country Club
On May 24, an ex-girlfriend received multiple strange text messages from an unknown source, believed to be her ex-boyfriend.
5800 block of NW 80th Ter.
On May 25, there was a landlord-tenant dispute over a damaged palm tree.
80000 block of NW 115th Way. Heron Bay
On May 25, BSO was called about an argument between a mother and daughter; the mother stated that the daughter threatened that she might harm herself and drove off, at which time the mother contacted police.
Lost Property
11100 block of NW 77 Place. Heron Bay
Between May 17 and May 18, the victim reported her $20,321.00 diamond was missing out of her engagement ring.
Theft – All Other
12185 Lake House Ln. Lennar Homes
Between May 20 and May 21, five Seagull light fixtures were removed from the living room roof. The house is currently under construction, and several workers from different trades have unsupervised access.
5900 Loxahatchee Rd. Southeast Mechanical
On May 25, two nail guns, two drills, various tools valued at $1500 were stolen out of a Conex box on the construction site.
