Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Parkland through April 1.
Aggressive Animal/Bite
7962 Nw 109th Ln, Parkland, FL Heron Bay Meadowbrook
On March 24, 2019 at 6:50 p.m., a Yorkie dog was attacked and killed by a black Labrador that escaped from a neighbor’s residence. The attack took place while the victim was walking her dog on a leash. Owner of the black Labrador was contacted, informed of incident, and placed in communication the owner of the Yorkie for reimbursement of vet bills.
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
BJ’s Wholesale Club 5901 Hillsboro Blvd, Parkland, FL
Kimberly Pastoria, 35 of Boca Raton entered the store on March 25, at approximately 10:18 a.m. and put a Sharp ION Robotic Vacuum worth approximately $300.00 in her cart. At 10:21 a.m. she exited the front door with property by passing all points of sale without lawfully paying for merchandise. At 4:39 p.m. she reentered the store and put a HP Pavilion Desk Top Computer worth $550.00 in her cart, then exited the front door with property by passing all points of sale without paying for merchandise. Estimated value of property taken is $850.00.
BJ’s Wholesale at 5901 Hillsboro Blvd, Parkland, FL
Between 11:11 a.m. and 11:18 a.m. on March 28, 2019, Kimberly Pastoria, 35 of Boca Raton concealed 2 Bose sound bars, $212.00 each, exited store without paying. Suspect was stopped in Palm Beach County by PBSO, positively identified, and merchandise was returned to BJ’s. Suspect charged with grand theft and then transported to jail for processing.

9415 Aston Gardens Ct, Parkland, FL
On March 21, the 80-year-old victim advised BSO that between January and February 5, 2019 an unknown suspect(s) stole jewelry valued at approximately $10,000.
7000 Block Nw 117th Ln, Parkland, FL Heron Bay
Victim reported that he just noticed that jewelry and money were missing from a safe which was inside his wife’s bedroom. His wife passed away on March 19, 2019 and had been under the care of numerous home health aides and hospice nurses between March 10, 2019 and March 14, 2019. He stated that approximately $100,000 in jewelry and $3,000 cash was stolen.

On Marcy 25, 2019, BSO made contact with the owner who advised he received a check from a person on Letgo for the amount of $2,150.00 which appeared to be fraudulent.
7000 Block of Nw 70th Manor Ternbridge
Between August 20, 2018 and March 27, 2019, the resident called the Parkland District Office to report that his personal information was used to open an account in Richmond, Texas.

Anonymous call in reference to crowd and traffic issues at one home.
Domestic Disturbance
9600 Block of NW 63rd Pl The Landings Estates
On March 27, 2019 at 9:23 p.m. the person reporting got into a verbal altercation with her nephew because he was yelling and screaming at his father inside of the residence.
Criminal Mischief
Six Acre Wood Park 6060 Hillsboro Blvd, Parkland, FL
On March 30, 2019 at 12:09 p.m. it was reported the sidewalk was spray painted with obscenities.
