College Or The Major Leagues? Roman Anthony Makes His Decision

Marjory Stoneman Douglas outfielder Roman Anthony had an important decision after being selected in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft.

He could either sign with the Boston Red Sox or attend Ole Miss and play college baseball.

Anthony decided to sign with the Red Sox for $2.5 million, which was well over the slot value of $820,400 for the 79th pick.

Anthony played two years on the varsity baseball team and led the team to a pair of state titles and a championship in the National High School Baseball Invitational featuring the top 16 teams in the country. The All-American hit .545 with ten home runs and 40 RBIs as a senior and finished his high school career with 15 homers and 62 RBIs before being named Florida’s Gatorade Player of the Year.
