Residents and local entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to connect, discover, and support neighborhood businesses at the inaugural South Creek Community Business Expo on Saturday, April 18.
Hosted by the South Creek Community Organization (SCCO), the event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Coconut Creek Community Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
The group is not a homeowners’ association but a volunteer-driven organization focused on building connections among residents and businesses and is coordinated by a team of six people from the South Creek Community Organization, including Lorena Morel, Alexis Morel, and Gregory Gayle. Dan Hobby is the president of SCCO.
The expo is the result of months of planning by SCCO volunteers, who have been meeting regularly since last year to bring the event to life. Designed as a tabling-style showcase, the expo will feature a variety of small and home-based businesses promoting their services and products directly to attendees.
The City of Coconut Creek is supporting the event through community outreach efforts and will have Coconut Creek Police Department personnel on-site. Attendees may also have the opportunity to tour Coconut Creek Fire Rescue Station 50 during the event.
