Saddle up, horse lovers. Spitfire Farm in Coconut Creek is accepting applications for its winter break camp.
Campers will participate in horseback riding, horse care, games (both mounted and unmounted), arts & crafts, horse painting, and more.
The day begins with the kids learning how to groom and tack up the horses. Then, they will ride for about an hour. After the ride, they will learn how to untack and bathe the horses.
Once finished, they will have lunchtime (guardians must send their children to camp with a packed lunch, snacks, and water). After lunch, the children will get to do arts and crafts, play games, and learn more about the non-riding side of horse care.
The first week of Winter Camp will run on December 23, 26, and 27. The second week will run from December 30 to December 31, January 2, and January 3.
Guardians can sign campers up for individual days or the entire week of either camp (the whole week is discounted).
They have a Standard Day camp and an Extended Day camp. The standard day is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the extended day is from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
