The City of Coconut Creek is bringing a twist to the popular sport of pickleball with its Indoor Glow-in-the-Dark Pickleball Tournament for men.
Held on Monday, January 6, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Community Center gymnasium at 1100 Lyons Road; participants are asked to arrive by 5:45 p.m.
Open to men aged 18 and older, the tournament is designed for players with intermediate to advanced skill levels. Competitors will play round-robin with rotating partners, ensuring at least four games per player.
Each game will be played to 11 points with a win-by-one differential, leading to a single-elimination round to crown the winner. Players must bring their own paddles, while the city will provide glow-in-the-dark courts, equipment, and accessories to illuminate the competition.
The registration fee is $15 per player, and payment must be made by credit card. Registration is open through January 5, 2024, or until all spots are filled, as space is limited to just 14 participants. Same-day registration will not be accepted.
Interested players can register online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Community Center or Recreation Complex at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard. An active WebTrac account is required for online registration, and those needing assistance setting up an account can contact the Community Center at 954-545-6670.
