The City of Coconut Creek has announced its Creek Fit’s Couch to 5K 2025 program, designed to help participants prepare for the upcoming Coconut Creek 5K Butterfly Run.
The eight-week training program runs on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., beginning December 1 and continuing through January 22. Sessions will be held at the outdoor track behind the Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Blvd. In case of inclement weather, training will move indoors to the gymnasium.
Participants are encouraged to complete three runs per week, with at least one rest day between sessions. Saturday runs are to be completed independently using the provided training program.
The first 30 participants to register will receive a goody bag, including a Couch to 5K T-shirt. The program is open to all ages; however, participants ages 12 to 14 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and all participants must sign a waiver. For ages 12 to 17, a parent or guardian must sign the waiver on their behalf.
The cost is $10 per participant for both residents and nonresidents, payable by credit card only. The program is free for registered participants in the 2026 Coconut Creek 5K Butterfly Run.
Registration opens Monday, November 10, at Creek Fit North, 4455 Sol Press Blvd. In-person registration only; online registration is not available.
Registration fees for the 2026 Coconut Creek 5K Butterfly Run are $20 for ages 17 and younger and $35 for ages 18 and older.
