The Monarch Against Cancer Club is looking for ways to support people who are facing the disease.
Recently, Monarch High School students in the club showed their support for Commissioner John Brodie, who is fighting cancer, by sending cards and words of encouragement.
Members of the club participated in the Coconut Creek Butterfly Festival and shared their goals and objectives.
They will be participating in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of North Broward that will take place on March 28 from 4 to 9 p.m. at North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek.
This event will bring people together to raise funds and garner support to fight cancer, honor survivors, and remember those who died from the disease, according to Natasha Alba-Emond, Media Clerk at Monarch. She works with the club’s students.
“We are here to raise money for Relay For Life, and we are looking forward to participating in it,” she said.
Monarch Principal James Cecil also attended the festival to showcase the school’s many academic, artistic, and athletic programs to visitors.
