Skateboard-Wielding Woman Arrested After Allegedly Damaging Coconut Creek Home, Vehicles During Dispute

A woman was arrested after using a skateboard to damage a Coconut Creek home and vehicles during a confrontation with her estranged husband and his girlfriend.

According to Coconut Creek Police Department records, Marcelle Franck, 51, of Boynton Beach, arrived at a residence near the 5300 block of Northwest 41st Way around 1:03 a.m. on August 5 and began banging loudly on the front door.

The victim, a female, told officers she awoke to the noise and saw Franck outside, but that she did not recognize her. Her boyfriend, however, quickly identified Franck as his soon-to-be ex-wife, with whom he was going through a divorce. 

Police said Franck began striking the door with her fists and kicking it before picking up a skateboard and hitting it repeatedly, leaving dents and scratches. She then turned to a black 2023 Chevrolet Suburban in the driveway, striking it with the skateboard, before moving on to another vehicle belonging to the female victim, shattering a rear window and denting the trunk with the skateboard.

Franck’s husband told police he believed his wife was upset that he had invited their adult son to the residence to celebrate his birthday. He said she sent him profanity-laced text messages before showing up.

Officers noted Ring doorbell footage captured Franck banging on the door, though not the strikes with the skateboard. A skateboard with fresh scuff marks was recovered at the scene.

Franck was arrested and booked into the Broward County Main Jail on two counts of criminal mischief over $1,000. She was later released after posting a $5,000 bond.
