High School volleyball in Coconut Creek continued with several teams competing in their final home match of the season.
Monarch High School beat South Plantation High School in five sets while Chloe Mercurio, Elinor Shamai, and Brooke Yuknus all played at home for the final time. The Knights then went on to beat Coral Springs High School in five sets on September 18, improving their record to 5-4.
Monarch previously beat J.P. Taravella, Coconut Creek, and Blanche Ely High School earlier this season and will play again against Charles Flanagan High School on Thursday, September 25, at 4:30 p.m. The Spartans are 2-7 this year as the Knights will close out the regular season with matchups against Fort Laudable and Charles W. Flanagan High School.
Coconut Creek High School won its first match of the season against Blanche Ely High School, but has dropped its last five. The losing streak started against Monarch High School, while they went on to lose against J.P. Taravella, Piper, Pembroke Pines Charter, and Sagemont Prep in their final home match.
The Cougars will have a brief break before playing Northeast High School on October 7 at 4:30 p.m. The Hurricanes are 2-5 this year, while Coconut Creek will then close out the regular season with a matchup against McArthur High School two days later.
North Broward Prep ranks as the 13th best team in Florida, boasting a 13-2 record. The Eagles won their first 10 matches of the season, including a five-set win over Pine Crest School. They went on to participate in a tournament, winning three of their five matches. They defeated South Broward, Dwyer, and Boca Raton Christian, while losing to Pine Crest and Divine Savior Academy.
Earlier in the season, NBP beat FAU High, NSU University, Coral Springs Charter, Kings Academy, Somerset Academy, Canyon, Cypress Bay, Boca Raton Christian, Archbishop McCarthy, and Saint Andrews.
NBP will play four matches, with three of them at home, including Calvary Christian Academy on Wednesday, September 25, at 5:30 p.m. They are 8-8 this season as NBP will then play Benjamin, Chamindade Madonna, and St. John Paul II Academy.
