Coconut Creek Prepares for Major Police Headquarters Expansion, Hurricane-Resilient Upgrades

During the September 10 meeting, the Coconut Creek Commission approved two neighborhood enhancement grants.

It passed a resolution to approve the Cayman Village Condominium Association application for matching grant funds from the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program for energy conservation enhancements.

The commission approved $6,537.60 in matching grant funds to replace existing light heads with new LED lighting, according to a presentation by Justin Proffitt, Director of Sustainable Development.

The commission also passed a resolution to approve the Tall Trees Homeowners Association application for matching grant funds from the grant program. The commission approved $10,800 in matching grant funds for a beautification project that includes installing 540 clusia hedge plants. This landscaping project will buffer the development’s eastern property line along Lyons Road, Proffitt said.
