Mainstreet Townhomes rendering. {City of Coconut Creek}
Construction on Mainstreet at Coconut Creek is moving closer.
During the April 10 meeting, the commission agreed to a resolution approving David Auld of Johns Family Partners’ site plan request to build a maximum of up to 152 townhomes and villas on the property known as Block 8 of the Mainstreet at Coconut Creek.
The plans call for 60 single-family townhomes and 92 villas, as well as parks and open spaces. According to city information, there will be a dog park, play areas for children, a splash pad, nature play areas, and public art.
Scott Backman, the attorney representing Johns Family Partners, gave a presentation and showed pictures of the planned villas, townhomes, and proposed parks, including smaller pocket parks. The presentation described how the neighborhoods on Block 8 would appear.
When complete, Mainstreet will be a major mixed-use development in central Coconut Creek. According to the Mainstreet website, it will include residential neighborhoods, retail stores, restaurants, a greenway system, large parks, a centralized gathering space and other amenities.
