Track and Field teams in Coconut Creek recognized their seniors before the start of the postseason.
Coconut Creek held their senior night on April 1 at Coral Springs High School, honoring Jeremiah Accius, Benjamin Duverna, Duverna, Jermaine Gordan, Alexander Guillaume, Kamari Huggins, Berly Joseph, Alvaro Mondestin, and Malcolm Robinson from the boys team along with Aiyana Borden, Salaya Cambell, Keira David, Romaicor Desir, and Ayanna Romer from the girls team.
The boys’ team finished in second place, with wins from Guillaume in the 400 meters and Huggins in the javelin. Nathaniel Black and Accius each came in second in the hurdles, along with Dudley Norcine, Darryl Pluviose, Juvens Joseph, and Alexander Guillaumeudley in the 4 x 400 relay, and Norcine, Joseph, Guillaume, and Accius in the 4 x 800 relay. Huggins and Income also placed third in the hurdles.
Ruth Ann Powell won the 200 meters and placed second in the 100 meters, respectively, for the girls’ team. Iyanna Taylor placed third in the discus. Jayda Washington, Salaya Campbell, and Keira David all placed fourth, with Taylor also placing fifth in the discus.
Monarch was led by its three relay teams, which took first place: Dominick Brannon, Amari Deer, Jayden Joselin, and Jabari Brady won the 4 x 100 relay. Jayden Joselin, Amari Deer, Dominick Brannon, and Jabari Brady took first in the 4 x 400 relay, while Tyler Hilton, Adrian Graham, Patrick Scott, and Brian Colquhoun placed second. Brady won the 100 meters, and Joselin took first in the 400 meters. Adrian Graham also came in third in the 800 meters.
The girls had Zakiah Peterson win the 400 meters while Kennedi Stephenson came in second in the 100 and 200 meters. Individually, Silvia Guzman Serrano came in second in the 400 hurdles, while Katrice Burke finished third in the 200 meters. The Knights had two relay teams place, highlighted by the 4 x 100 relay team of Sasha Rodriguez, Stephenson, Chelsea Dumas, and Zykeria Ruthledge
Their seniors are Jaidhen Beaubrun and Dominick Brannon from the boys team, and Katrice Burke, Silvia Guzman Serrano, Zakiah Peterson, Jenae Roberts, Sasha Rodriguez, Zykeria Ruthledge, Saniah Whyte from the girls team.
North Broward Prep held its senior night on Monday during a tri-meet showcase with J.P. Taravella, FAU High, and Stranahan High School. Christopher Baker led the Eagles, winning the 200 meters and placing second in the 100 meters. Zach Amelchenko won the javelin, while Braxton Bylaw came in second in the 200 meters, along with Boston Nguyen. Hunter Gilman and Brodie Rush each came in third in the triple jump and javelin, respectively.
The girl’s team had five first-place finishes behind Ivory Edgebomb (100 meters), Ysamar Pimentel (high jump), Ella Munoz (long jump), Nina Sanguino (triple jump), and Alexa Schwartz (javelin. Munoz also came in second in the 200 meters and triple jump and third in the 100 meters, while Lucia Casacci came in second in the 800 and 1600 meters. Marianna Lander, Victoria Depenbrock, and Israela Kriebel placed third.
NBP seniors include Danylo Babinchuk, Baker, Luke Diamond, Joshua Espinosa, Gilman, Matthew Kazimirov, Alex Pavon, Joseph Rondon, Sebastian Smith, Dylan Tierney from the boys team, Alana Amsterdam, Tessa Dixon, Edgecomb, Israela Kribel, Mariana Lander, Jalyn Rozier, Nina Sanguino, Alexa Schwartz, and Isabella Velaszquez Contreras.
