Crime Incidents
Domestic Disturbance
Officers responded to a verbal domestic disturbance at a residence on Winston Park Boulevard North on Jan. 6. No injuries were reported.
Threat Assessment Report
A threat assessment was conducted at Monarch High School on Wiles Road on Jan. 6 after a student allegedly made a concerning statement during class.
Domestic Battery
A domestic battery incident involving simple touch/strike was reported at the Waterview Apartments on Jan. 6. An arrest was later made.
Wire Fraud
A victim reported losing approximately $32,775 in a wire fraud scheme at The Landings. The incident occurred between Nov. 26, 2025, and Jan. 6, 2026.
Domestic Battery
Another domestic battery involving simple touch/strike was reported on Cocoplum Circle on Jan. 6.
Suspicious Incidents (Schools)
Suspicious incidents were reported at North Broward Preparatory School, Coconut Creek High School, Monarch High School, Dave Thomas Education Center, and Tradewinds Elementary throughout the week. All incidents were investigated, and no immediate threats were reported.
Property Damage
Property damage was reported at multiple locations, including Banyan Trails Drive, Winston Park Boulevard, Pinecreek Way, and Copans Road. Several cases involved vehicle vandalism.
Theft – Bicycles
Two electric bicycles valued at approximately $800 were reported stolen from the Wynmoor community.
Fraud – Credit Card Use
A victim reported unauthorized use of a credit card totaling $107 at a residence on Northwest 41st Lane.
Criminal Mischief – Vehicle
A vehicle was vandalized on Lyons Road on Jan. 7. The victim declined to prosecute.
Elderly Abuse Investigation
Authorities opened an investigation into alleged elderly abuse at a South Creek residence.
Baker Act Cases
Multiple individuals were taken into protective custody under the Baker Act at locations including Wynmoor, Monarch High School, Club Caribe, Cypress Shores, and Copans Road.
Vehicle Theft
A white 2023 Toyota Tacoma was reported stolen from Atlantic Boulevard on Jan. 10. The theft may have been related to a possible repossession.
Missing Person
A missing adult male from Tamarind Village was reported on Jan. 9 and later safely recovered.
Theft From Motor Vehicle
A delayed theft report involving items valued at $3,420 was filed for a vehicle on Hillsboro Boulevard.
Arrests
Steven J. Schiller, 59, was arrested on Jan. 6 and charged with domestic battery (touch or strike).
Dontajah Destiny McFadden, 24, was arrested on Jan. 6 and charged with domestic battery (touch or strike).
Helyk Oliveira de Castro, 38, was arrested on Jan. 6 and charged with domestic battery (touch or strike).
Adrian O. Bent, 54, was arrested on Jan. 6 and charged with domestic battery (touch or strike).
Timothy Drake Kendrick, 39, was arrested on Jan. 9 and charged with battery on a person over 65, a felony offense.
