Coconut Creek Police responded to various calls from June 10 to June 16. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Vehicle Burglaries
A vehicle was burglarized at Karanda Village I between June 9 and 10. Items valued at $55 were reported stolen.
Another vehicle burglary occurred nearby at Karanda Village I with an estimated loss of $160.
At The Landings at Coconut Creek, multiple vehicles were entered between 1:40 a.m. and 2:26 a.m. on June 11. One victim reported a loss of $1,645, while another reported a loss of $600.
More vehicle burglaries were reported at Tradewinds Apartments, with a loss of $1,340; Country Club Lakes ($2,040); and Preserve Cypress Hammocks ($500).
At Pond Apple I, a delayed burglary report listed losses of $6,050.
Vehicle Thefts
Two vehicles were reported stolen: one from Center Pointe between June 13 and 14, and another from Applewood Village I on June 14.
Retail Thefts
A retail theft was reported at Walmart on June 13, with items valued at $262.
Publix on W. Hillsboro Blvd reported a theft on June 14 totaling $121.
The Hook Up Smoke and Skate Shop was also targeted, with $60 in merchandise stolen on June 15.
Thefts from Buildings and Bicycles
A theft from a building at World of Beer on Lyons Road was reported June 13, totaling $570.
A bicycle valued at $300 was stolen from outside Sprouts on Lyons Road on June 15.
Battery and Domestic Disturbances
Several incidents of simple battery were reported throughout the city, including at Banyan Bay, Coral Pointe, Karanda 6, Olivine, and Golden Raintree III.
Domestic-related batteries were also logged, including dating and family disputes.
Suspicious Incidents and Property Crimes
Suspicious incidents were documented at multiple locations, including Hillsboro Blvd and N State Road 7.
Property damage was reported at NW 42nd Drive and the City’s motor pool.
Found property included a shotgun at a storage facility and a wallet near “Off the Wall” entertainment center.
Missing Persons
A juvenile was reported missing and later recovered at NW 45th Avenue.
An adult was reported missing at Deerfield Lakes.
Miscellaneous Reports
Several sick persons were Baker Acted across the city.
Police assisted other agencies on multiple calls, including one involving a missing child.
Officers responded to drone overflight concerns at South Florida Jewish Academy.
One fraud case involved a person attempting to return unpurchased items at Walmart.
Arrests
Devonna Latifah Williams, 32, was arrested for petit theft under $750 at Walmart on June 13.
Steve Thomas Towne, 73, was arrested for criminal mischief under $1,000 on June 13.
Shannon Nicole Rosensteel, 27, was arrested for obstruction by a disguised person on June 13.
Elvis Reynaldo Mongelopez, 27, was arrested for battery on June 15.
Vernon Marquis, 38, was arrested for domestic battery on June 15.
