Modifications are coming to the equipment on the communications tower at Lakeside Park.
During the June 12 meeting, the commission approved an ordinance for a second amendment to the lease agreement between Coconut Creek and New Cingular Wireless, a successor in interest to AT&T Wireless Services of Florida, which provides modifications to the tower.
New Cingular Wireless wishes to amend the agreement for the second time to make several updates. These changes will involve modifying the equipment on the tower, enhancing its equipment within the currently leased space, and clarifying the ground lease along with the non-exclusive aerial easement for the tenant’s connection to the tower and the utility easement. The plans include adding antennas and increasing the tower’s weight.
The city administration determines that it is in the best interest of the residents to execute a second amendment to this agreement with New Cingular Wireless. The rent will increase from $51,840 to $55,464 and will be allocated to the city’s general fund.
