Coconut Creek Police responded to various calls from February 11 to 17. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Theft & Burglary
Theft – All Other: Roofing materials valued at $4,350 were stolen from Reliable Roofing at 3582 Cocoplum Cir between February 10 at 6:00 p.m. and February 11 at 7:45 a.m.
Retail Theft: A shoplifting incident occurred at Walmart (5571 W Hillsboro Blvd) on February 11 at 12:25 p.m., resulting in a loss of $67.
Retail Theft: A suspect stole ice cream from 7-Eleven (4525 Wiles Rd) between 3:40 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. on February 12. The suspect, a white male, was trespassed indefinitely.
Theft – Auto Parts: A wheel and tire were stolen from an Enterprise rental vehicle at 4401 W Sample Rd between February 10 at 3:00 p.m. and February 12 at 8:39 a.m. Estimated loss: $600.
Vehicle Theft – Motorcycle: A motorcycle was stolen from Vista Verde at 4740 W Atlantic Blvd between February 12 at 11:45 p.m. and February 13 at 6:45 a.m.
Retail Theft: A male suspect was arrested for trespassing at Walmart (5571 W Hillsboro Blvd) on February 13 at 10:14 a.m.
Theft – From Motor Vehicle: A burglary was reported at Planet Fitness (4911 Coconut Creek Pkwy) between February 12 at noon and February 13 at 1:30 p.m., with an estimated loss of $350.
Theft—From Building: A wallet was stolen from a location in Coconut Creek between 5:59 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on February 13. The loss is estimated at $30.
Retail Theft: A white female suspect stole items from Home Depot (4450 N State Road 7) on February 15 at 12:46 p.m. and fled with a white male in a Dodge truck. The stolen items, valued at $953, were recovered.
Vehicle Theft – Auto: A stolen vehicle was recovered following a traffic stop at 4200 W Sample Rd on February 15 at 10:28 p.m. The suspect was also found in possession of oxycodone.
Traffic Incidents
DUI Arrest: A suspect was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop at 1100 Lyons Rd on February 11 at 10:04 p.m. The individual was transported to BSO Main Jail.
Traffic Stop & Seized Tag: A traffic stop at 4800 Coconut Creek Pkwy on February 13 resulted in the seizure of a Florida tag.
DUI Arrest: A black male was arrested for DUI at the intersection of Coconut Creek Pkwy and Lyons Rd (4600 block) on February 14 at 12:09 a.m. The vehicle was found stopped in the roadway.
Assaults & Disturbances
Battery – Domestic Disturbance: A simple battery incident was reported on Sunshine Dr on February 12 at 10:00 p.m. No arrest was made due to conflicting statements.
Domestic Disturbance: A verbal domestic disturbance was reported at 5315 Eagle Cay Way on February 14 at 8:43 p.m.
Elderly Abuse/Neglect: An APS/DCF report was filed regarding the suspected abuse of a 73-year-old victim between February 11 and February 12.
Other Notable Incidents
Animal Bite: A dog bite was reported at Baywood Village III (4593 Carambola Cir S) between February 11 at 2:05 p.m. and February 12 at 9:28 a.m.
Missing Juvenile: A juvenile was reported missing from Pond Apple Place IV (3199 Carambola Cir S) between 7:00 a.m. and 9:37 p.m. on February 12.
Threat Assessment Report: A report was filed regarding a threat at Coconut Creek High School on February 13 at 7:23 a.m. The report was based on a Fortify tip from an anonymous source.
Suspicious Incident: A parent reported receiving suspicious messages regarding a student at Coconut Creek High School on February 13 at 10:48 p.m.
Obstruction of Justice: A traffic stop at 3900 Stagecoach Dr on February 14 at 11:48 p.m. resulted in an arrest for obstruction of justice. The suspect was transported to BSO Main Jail, and multiple citations were issued.
Police Assist – Capias Warrant: A male suspect was arrested for a Capias misdemeanor warrant at 221 Partridge Ct on February 15 between 9:58 p.m. and 10:58 p.m.
Suspicious Incident – Child Abuse Allegation: An abuse report regarding a two-year-old child at Building Blocks Learning Center was filed and sent to DCF on February 15.
Arrests
DUI Arrest: Andres Gaspar Lopez, 28, was arrested for DUI with property damage/injury at 221 Partridge Ct on February 16.
