Coconut Creek Police responded to various calls from June 16 to June 22, 2026. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Incidents
Burglary
A burglary was reported at South Florida Jewish Academy, 3700 Coconut Creek Parkway, after a suspect allegedly entered the business and committed grand theft. An arrest was made.
A burglary with battery was reported in the Banyan Pointe neighborhood on June 21. An arrest was made.
Theft
A wallet valued at approximately $2,075 was reported stolen from the South Creek neighborhood.
A delayed theft of a ring valued at approximately $10,000 was reported in Wynmoor Village.
Retail thefts were reported at:
Publix, 6570 N. State Road 7 ($97 in merchandise).
Walmart, 5571 W. Hillsboro Blvd. ($5 in food items; prosecution declined).
Kohl’s, 6950 N. State Road 7 ($340 in merchandise).
A delayed stolen vehicle was reported from the Windsor community after a vehicle was taken overnight and later recovered.
Fraud
A stolen credit card was used at J&N Drive Thru, resulting in a fraudulent $14 purchase.
A resident of Baywood Village II reported being defrauded of approximately $1,100.
Police also assisted a Wynmoor resident who reported being scammed into depositing money into a Bitcoin machine.
Criminal Mischief
A vehicle was spray-painted in the Bayport neighborhood.
Graffiti was found on a boardwalk wall at the Township Recreation Center.
Criminal mischief was also reported at the Banyan Trails clubhouse, on Sunshine Drive and in the Regency Lakes community following a domestic disturbance.
Battery and Domestic Incidents
Domestic battery incidents were reported at the Olivine Apartments, South Creek and Carrington.
A battery was reported at Windsor.
An Orbeez pellet battery was reported in Banyan Trails. The victim declined prosecution.
Juvenile battery was investigated at the Banyan Trails clubhouse.
Verbal domestic disturbances were reported in the Olivine neighborhood and at Planet Fitness.
DUI and Traffic Arrests
A crash at West Atlantic Boulevard and Lyons Road resulted in the driver’s arrest on charges including DUI, DUI with property damage and DUI with injuries.
Additional traffic stops resulted in arrests on felony warrants and narcotics-related charges.
Narcotics
A traffic stop near Lyons Road resulted in DUI and narcotics arrests involving two occupants.
Other Incidents
Three unattended deaths were investigated, including one determined to be suspicious pending further investigation.
Police assisted other agencies on several occasions, including K-9 deployments in Margate and recovering a missing senior.
Animal control responded to an animal complaint in the Buttonwood Hammocks neighborhood.
A trespass warning was issued at 4849 Coconut Creek Parkway.
Lost or stolen property reports were taken from Copans Road, the Promenade and Copolum Circle.
Police investigated an attempted homicide case reported at Monarch Station that also involved narcotics.
Arrests
The following arrests were reported during the week:
Michel Roberto Alves da Costa Moura, 33, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery.
John Lawrence Bevilacqua, 46, was arrested on a charge of resisting an officer without violence.
Bradley Owen Hurley, 62, was arrested on a charge of grand theft.
Johnny Damavious Lawrence, 26, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery.
Gene M. Hochman, 44, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery.
Thyrick Anderson McCraywhite, 18, was arrested on a charge of felony retail theft.
Jaqueline Rivero, 46, was arrested on a charge of cocaine possession.
Jesus Manuel Alicea Alvarez, 69, was arrested on a charge of cocaine possession.
Leon Lee Lindo, 33, was arrested on a charge of burglary of an unoccupied structure.
Giancarlo Mercado, 48, was arrested on a charge of burglary with assault or battery.
Dale Lavern Mallory, 65, was arrested on a charge of first-offense DUI.
