
Coconut Creek Flag Football. {Coconut Creek Athletics}
The Coconut Creek High School flag football team had a terrific season, winning a District Title along with Senior Night.
The Cougars earned the top seed and received a bye in the opening round before facing Blanche Ely High School in the semifinals. Coconut Creek jumped out to a 13-0 lead but saw Blanche Ely rally with two touchdowns to tie the game. The Cougars responded in overtime, securing the win and advancing to the championship game.
Meanwhile, West Boca Raton High School reached the final after defeating Deerfield Beach High School in its semifinal matchup. In the championship, Coconut Creek delivered a commanding performance, defeating West Boca Raton 35-0 to capture the district title, earn the third seed, and will face Southridge High School on Wednesday, April 29, at 7 p.m.
Coconut Creek also recognized their seniors, Indiana Jordan, Mylie Carlson, Nia Ennis, Teshaunna Miller, Jayda Washington, and Precious Crowder, all of whom were recognized for their contributions to the program.
Monarch High School finished its regular season with one win, a 7-0 victory over Deerfield Beach High School. The Knights were eliminated in the opening round of the District Tournament following a loss to Cypress Bay High School. Monarch’s seniors included Ira Joseph and Aaliyah Williams.
