Coconut Creek is hosting a “Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt” on Monday, Dec. 18, at the city’s Community Center, 1100 Lyons Rd.
The hunt will be divided into two sessions: the first for children ages two to four, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the second for children ages five to seven, from 7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The fee is $10 per child for Coconut Creek residents and $15 for non-residents. Payment can only be made by card.
“Participants will bring flashlights and help find sweet treats,” the city said in a press release announcing the event. “Prizes will be awarded to the candy cane hunters who find the special ‘golden’ candy canes. After all the candy canes are found, warm up with some hot chocolate.”
Registration is ongoing until full, and space is limited to 40 participants per session, according to the city.
