Coconut Creek Police arrested two alleged burglars they said were trying to break into the old Bru’s Room property on Tuesday, thwarting the break-in with the help of a police K-9, authorities said.
Police said Beau Gordon, 26, of Coconut Creek, and Elijah Cox, 21, of Boca Raton, set off an alarm at the property at 5460 W. Hillsboro Blvd. around 2:17 a.m. on September 15th.
“It was clear to [an officer] the two men were up to no good. They were both near a ladder trying to gain access to the roof,” Coconut Creek Police said in a social media post Thursday. “The threat of a tussle with K9 Arlo convinced them to surrender.”
Both men were charged with burglary, police said.
Gordon was also charged with spray painting part of the building and having drugs in his satchel, police said.
Both men were taken to Broward County Jail.
Bond information for their cases was not immediately available.
