Runners, walkers, and families will take to the scenic paths of Tradewinds Park on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, for the City of Coconut Creek’s much-anticipated 5K Butterfly Run, hosted by the Coconut Creek Parks and Recreation Department.
The event is set to begin at 7 a.m. with participant check-in opening at 5:30 a.m.
The Butterfly Run welcomes participants of all ages and abilities, offering a vibrant, community-focused start to the year. The race encourages festive flair with butterfly-themed attire and promises a fun atmosphere for runners and supporters alike.
Participants are encouraged to pick up race packets early at Creek Fit North, located at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard in Coconut Creek, on Friday, Jan. 30, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. or Saturday, Jan. 31, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Race-day packet pick-up will also be available at Tradewinds Park beginning at 5:30 a.m.
There will be no race-day registration, and timing is measured from the moment participants cross the start line to the finish. Walkers and strollers are welcome toward the back of the pack, but pets are not permitted on the course.
Tradewinds Park, home to the race, offers a beautiful backdrop for this community-centric event at 3600 W. Sample Road in Coconut Creek. Spectators and supporters are encouraged to cheer on runners, but everyone must be inside the park by 6:50 a.m., as entrances will close promptly before the race starts.
All pre-registered participants will receive a Sport-Tek long-sleeve race shirt, and the first finishers will earn finisher medals. Awards will be presented for the top three male and female overall finishers, with special recognition for the first male and female Coconut Creek residents to cross the finish line.
