Coconut Creek Recreational Complex {Aiden Palmer}
Budding actors will soon take the stage as the City of Coconut Creek hosts its Community Theater Workshop this fall, offering children ages 6 to 12 the chance to learn the art of performance.
The program, held at the Recreation Complex at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard, introduces participants to the fundamentals of acting through short skits and stories. Young performers will practice character breakdown, stage directions, vocal projection, and stage presence, with a live performance at the conclusion of each session.
Two sessions are available: Session 1 will run Wednesdays from October 29 through November 19, and Session 2 will take place Thursdays from October 30 through November 20. Both sessions meet from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.
The cost is $25 per session for Coconut Creek residents and $35 for non-residents, space permitting. Credit card payment is required. Each session is limited to 12 participants.
Registration is ongoing until filled. Residents and non-residents may register online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Recreation Complex or the Community Center at 1100 Lyons Road. Participants must have a WebTrac account to register online. For assistance with setting up an account, call the Recreation Complex at 954-956-1580.
