Anna Fusco needs your help to escape from Pony Jail on Oct. 12 at the Tomorrow’s Rainbow Western Fall Festival in Coconut Creek.
Fusco, Broward Teachers Union President, is one of many Broward notables needing to raise “bale” to be released from captivity at the mini-ranch. The money raised will go towards Tomorrow’s Rainbow, a local nonprofit that has been bringing hope and healing to grieving children and families for more than 20 years.
“Thank you for helping bring hope and healing to Broward’s grieving children and families,” Fusco said. “With your support, I will be free from Pony Jail, and together we will make a lasting difference.”
Pony Jail ‘n Bale is a lively western-themed event held at the Tomorrow’s Rainbow mini-ranch,
4341 NW 29th Ave., Coconut Creek, from 1-4 p.m. this Sunday. This family-centered day offers live music, games, inflatables, a variety of food, and creative photo opportunities at #SelfieRow, where you can snap selfies in western-inspired vignettes.
Guests will get to know the Tomorrow’s Rainbow horses, big and small. But the main attraction is raising “bale” for VIPs (Very Important Partners), including some very recognizable elected officials, while supporting Tomorrow’s Rainbow’s mission to provide grief and trauma support to children and families in need.
The entrance fee is $20 per person and includes food and activities. All proceeds benefit Tomorrow’s Rainbow programs.
“We have the opportunity to raise more money at this event than ever before,” said Christina Tsirkas, Operations and Development Coordinator for Tomorrow’s Rainbow. “We always want to raise awareness for Tomorrow’s Rainbow so that we can get more support for kids who are grieving.”
Bob Mayersohn, a former Parkland City Commissioner, has been a VIP at the event for several years. This year, he will be the GOAT, as he has raised over $36,000 for Tomorrow’s Rainbow as a VIP over the years. As the GOAT, he’ll be locked up with the ranch’s three goats — Ellie Mae, Jed, and Summer.
“Visit me while I’m locked up in a miniature horse stall and help me celebrate my release after raising all of my “bale,” Mayersohn said.
Unfortunately, some Broward students face the unimaginable pain of losing a parent, sibling, or close loved one. Tomorrow’s Rainbow provides them with a safe space, specialized therapy, and unique support programs, often using horses and nature, to help children express themselves, build resilience, and know they are not alone.
