Four people were arrested after a shooting in North Lauderdale left one person dead and another injured, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
According to BSO, deputies responded around 1 a.m. to reports of a shooting near the 7900 block of Southwest Seventh Court. When deputies arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
North Lauderdale Fire Rescue transported both victims to a local hospital, where one later died from their injuries. The victim was identified as Maurice Vorroto, 20, of Coconut Creek. The second victim survived.
Investigators identified a suspect vehicle connected to the shooting and issued a “be on the lookout” alert to surrounding law enforcement agencies, according to BSO. Deputies later located the vehicle near the 1300 block of Avocado Isle in Fort Lauderdale.
BSO said four people were arrested in connection with the case, including two juveniles, ages 15 and 16. The adult suspects were identified as Aamir Adams, 19, of Pompano Beach, and Anthony Adams, 18, of Fort Lauderdale.
Detectives with BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
