Manuel Luciano Garcia {BSO}
A Coconut Creek man known by the nickname “Pikachu” was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill people with a pocket knife during a fight at a mobile home park.
According to a Coconut Creek Police Department arrest report, officers received emergency reports of a man attacking people, later identified as Manuel Luciano Garcia, 37.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to a witness who told police that “Pikachu” approached the victim, pulled out a pocket knife, pointed it toward him, and said he was going to “slice his throat.” Both the witness and the victim reported that Garcia appeared intoxicated at the time of the incident.
Records also list multiple tattoos referencing his nickname, including one that reads “PIKA” across his fingers and another depicting the Pokémon character Pikachu on his left hand. Officers note in the report that this identity has made him well-known in the Coconut Creek area.
When officers arrived at Garcia’s residence, he reportedly appeared drunk, resisted arrest, and tried to headbutt an officer.
Police noted Garcia has a history of disturbances and “a propensity for violence.” He was transported to Northwest Medical Center for medical clearance before being taken to the Broward County Main Jail.
