The Coconut Creek Police Department, in partnership with Coconut Creek Fire Rescue, is reminding residents to safely dispose of unused and expired medications during the upcoming DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
The drive-thru event will take place on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coconut Creek Community Center, located at 1100 Lyons Road.
Residents can conveniently drop off unwanted medications without leaving their vehicles. The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.
However, note that certain items will not be accepted, including inhalers, aerosol medications, e-cigarettes, vapes, and cartridges.
The Drug Take Back event is part of a nationwide effort led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to provide safe, responsible disposal options for prescription drugs.
