The high school volleyball season in Coconut Creek will shift to the District Tournament, with three teams in action this week.
The Cougars enter the postseason as the second seed after winning against Stranahan and Coral Springs High School this year. They will have a bye in the first round before facing Atlantic High School on Tuesday, October 15, at 6 p.m.
The Eagles are 2-5 this year, with victories over Palm Beach Lake and Boynton Beach High School. Dr. Joaquin Garcia High School is the top seed and will play the winner of Northeast and Blanche Ely High School in the opening round.
Monarch High School is the fourth seed in the postseason and will play Coral Glades. The Knights went 4-10 years with wins over Deerfield Beach, J.P. Taravella, Hollywood Hills, and South Broward High School but lost in four sets in their only meeting against the Jaguars earlier this year.
Coral Glades is the fifth seed and closed the regular season with a five-set win over J.P. Taravella High School and Nova, Hollywood Hills, and Charles W. Flanagan High School.
The winner of Monarch and Coral Glades will play Boca Raton Community High School in the semifinals, while Marjory Stoneman Douglas, J.P. Taravella, Piper, and Spanish River Community High School are on the other side of the bracket.
North Broward Prep will enter the postseason as the top seed after going 12-10 in the regular season. On Thursday, October 16, at 6 p.m., they will play the winner of Suncoast and Stranahan High School. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Pompano Beach, and Boyton Beach High School are on the other side of the bracket.
