Coconut Creek Police were investigating the discovery of apparent human remains at a homeless encampment Thursday afternoon.
A landscaping crew in the area spotted the skeletal remains in the wooded area near Lyons Road and West Hillsboro Boulevard before 3 p.m., according to Coconut Creek Police Department spokesman Scotty Leamon.
The medical examiner’s office will work to identify the remains, time of death, and other information, police said.
