Leah Finkelman will not just go down as one of the greatest players in North Broward Prep but one of the best in Florida.

The senior, currently committed to the University of Penn, scored her 100th career goal on Senior Night. Two games later, she broke the school record for most goals in a season, passing 2017 NBP graduate Morgan Sherman with 107 goals.

After breaking the school record for goals in a season last year with 34, Finkelman tied her mark with two goals over Somerset Academy Canyons in their 2-0 win over the second seed. However, she reached 34 goals in five fewer games this season. Finkelamn also set the school record for points in a season, points in a career, and assists in a season.

Finkelman says breaking these school records has meant so much to her, but most importantly, she is happy to be e to has been able to help the team.

“I am not ready for our season to end, and I know my teammates will continue to fight every minute we are out on the field together,” Finkelman said. “I am eager to continue scoring, but I’m even more eager to make it further in the postseason than last year and get the job done together.”

The Eagles are now 13-5-3 this year and will play American Heritage Delray in the Championship Game on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. The Stallions are 9-1-1 this year, with their only loss coming against St. Thomas Aquinas High School. They beat Jensen Beach High School in their Semifinal matchup on Friday.
