The North Broward Prep baseball team won another championship this season, winning the Palm League Championship following their victory over NSU University.
The Eagles trailed 3-0 but responded with eight unanswered runs, including six in the fifth inning. A.J. Cutler, Nikolas Koorse, and Anthony Maestre all recorded two RBIs, while Kiernan O’Neil knocked in one. Julian Rodriguez earned the win on the mound with four strong innings in relief. Nate Hernandez also pitched two innings after Koorse started the game.
The Eagles improved to 13-2 on the season and are currently ranked 12th in the nation. Koorse also committed to playing baseball in the SEC with the University of Missouri. In his high school career, he hit .285 with five home runs and 40 RBIs. Koorse is also 2-0 on the mound, with both his wins coming as a senior.
The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday, April 9, against Palm Beach Central High School at 6:30 p.m. The Broncos are 9-8 this year but lost 9-3 in their only meeting with the Eagles last season.
