Parkland Rangers Reveal Newly Installed Scoreboard

A special unveiling took place for the Parkland Rangers Football & Cheer Organization as they unveiled their first scoreboard at their homecoming game.

The new scoreboard is a collaboration of several organizations, including the Rangers board members, the city of Parkland, Bergen Sign, and Gantt Builders, who volunteered to install it.

Will Billings head coach for U8 said that they were now official, “Our Ranger families really wanted our park and team to have a scoreboard. We are truly thankful for our Ranger Family and Parkland community for supporting us.”

The Rangers paid for the scoreboard before the 2019 season began and used Rich Walker with Bergen Sign to purchase it.

The city of Parkland installed the electric portion, and Sergio Tio with Gantt Builders donated services to install the scoreboard. As a donation, Bergen Sign added the banner hanging underneath.

The scoreboard was unveiled at their Homecoming Game on October 5, in a reveal that included Parkland Mayor Christine Hunschofsky, City Commissioners Rich Walker and Bob Mayersohn, Board Members Odyssa Billings and Tara Gochin and U8 Head coach/President Will Billings, U10 Head Coach/Football Commissioner Evan Finkelstein and U12 Head Coach Ed Hoffman.

Evan Finkelstein, head coach for U10, said, “It is nice to finally have a state of the art scoreboard to add to our beautiful park that all players, coaches, cheerleaders, and parents can be proud of to enhance the excitement of game day.”

The Parkland Rangers celebrated Homecoming with a weeklong event lineup, including pink nails for cheerleaders compliments of Noire The Nail Bar Parkland; and give back night with an All-Star Pizza “spirit table” where parents created mums for game day.

On Spirit Day Friday, football players wore game day jerseys and cheerleaders wore bows to school. They wrapped up the day with practice, followed by cheer showcase, pink rose & chocolate exchange between the players and cheerleaders. Then a dinner where all teams and families enjoyed a delicious dinner donated by Evans family, All-Star Pizza, Nothing Bundt Cake, and parents.

Saturday’s line up included DJ Chris Cruz, vendors such as Jeff Seward –who fed all visiting and home teams as well as donated 100 percent of the proceeds to the PRFC Organization, Sub Zero Ice Cream, Carmela Coffee, Little Havana Parkland, and Fan Wear by Florida T-Shirt. They also had the Bahamas donation tent with sponsor Bill Sohl Luxury Realestate/Nicole Smeltzer.

The Parkland Rangers Organization currently comprises of three football teams and four cheerleading teams. The football teams are gearing up for playoffs, and the cheerleaders for competitions.
