The City of Coconut Creek has issued a public advisory regarding the scheduled demolition of the former Wheelabrator North plant.
The plant, located at 2600 Wiles Road and managed by Waste Management, will be demolished on Friday, June, at 10:00 a.m.
Wiles Road will be temporarily closed from just west of Powerline Road to just west of the Turnpike overpass to ensure public safety during demolition.
The road closure is expected to last approximately 45 minutes, during which detours and traffic movement plans will be in effect to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth traffic flow in the surrounding areas.
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and to expect delays during the scheduled demolition period. The city recommends using alternative routes and adhering to the detours to avoid the affected section of Wiles Road.
For any questions or further information regarding the demolition, residents can contact the provided hotline at 954-357-7320.
