
North Broward Prep Basketball. {NBP Athletics}

For the third straight year, the North Broward Prep boys basketball team will compete in the Regional Semifinals following their 53-49 win over Gulliver Prep on Thursday.
The Eagles trailed 31-28 late in the third quarter but went on a 9-0 run with Ryan Weiss, Ben Daniels, and Alex Wigginton hitting three-pointers. After Gulliver Prep tied the game at 44, Wigginton hit another huge three-pointer to give NBP the lead in the final minute before the Eagles knocked down their free throws to secure the win.
This was NBP’s 21st win of the season, coming nearly a week after winning their third District Championship in school history. Next, NBP is set to play Somerset Academy in a District Championship rematch. The Cougars fell to MSD 72-51. Feb. 10, but Somerset beat second seed Cardinal Gibbons High School 68-66 to win their 20th game of the season.
Sean Richards
North Broward Prep’s Sean Richards is officially committed to playing college golf at Iona University in New York.
Sean broke the nine and 18-hole individual school record this year. He also had an incredible postseason run, starting with a third-place finish in Districts, shooting a 71. After that, Sean shot a 72 in Regionals and helped his team reach States, where he averaged the lowest score.
In his final high school event, Sean won the GCJGF Prestige Junior Championships at the PGA National Fazio course, shooting 72 and winning by six strokes. His father, Mike, also runs the Mike Richards Golf Academy at the Parkland Golf and Country Club.
