A beloved Parkland teacher received a surprise parade by parents and students who wanted to let her know how much she is loved.

Abbie Klosky’s fifth-grade class at Heron Heights Elementary School surprised her with signs during her Zoom call to wish her a happy birthday on April 1.
Then on Friday, along with the fourth-grade excel students and their families, they lined up before noon to surprise Klosky at her Heron Bay home and rode by, waving homemade signs and smiles to show her how much they appreciated her.
According to parent Odyssa Billings, whose son William attends her class, said Klosky has been exceptional in helping the class transition to virtual learning by hosting daily zoom calls, sending emails, and being available to answer questions students might have.
“This is new to everyone, and having her support is important in their learning,” she said.
Billings said the final months of fifth-grade and school has changed so much; the class is definitely missing each other, their teacher and the typical end-of-year bonding activities.
“This was a great way to create a great memory, surprise their teacher, see their classmates, and get some fresh air.”
