Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to lace up their sneakers for a good cause when the second annual Race for Education 5K Run/Walk returns to Coconut Creek on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Hosted by the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation, the event will take place at Tradewinds Park, 3600 W. Sample Road, beginning at 7 a.m.
Presented by Amera and supported by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, the race will raise money to provide classroom materials, educational resources and other enhancements for students and teachers at local elementary, middle and high schools.
Proceeds will benefit the Chamber Education Foundation, which works to strengthen local schools by providing teachers with resources to create engaging learning environments.
The foundation also supports innovative classroom initiatives through its micro-grant program, which provides funding to educators for projects that enhance student learning.
Participants can choose to run or walk the 3.1-mile course, making the event accessible to both competitive runners and families looking to enjoy an active morning together.
Registration costs $40 for adults ages 18 and older and $30 for participants younger than 18.
Online registration is scheduled to remain open until 7:20 a.m. on race day.
