City employees and visitors to City Hall may continue to spot State Rep. Christine Hunschofsky coming and going.
At the October 22 meeting, the commission passed an ordinance on first reading authorizing a two-year extension of a lease agreement between Coconut Creek and Hunschofsky to lease office space in the City Government Center.
The city wants to lease office space within the Government Center, and Hunschofsky wants to lease office space to carry out the responsibilities of representing House District 95. The term will begin on November 4, 2026, and expire on November 7, 2028, through the end of her term at the rental rate of $500 per month.
Mayor Jeffrey Wasserman said Hunschofsky and her staff should be invited to community events held at the government center. He congratulated her and said, “You’ve been renewed.”
Commissioner Sandra Welch said having a representative and her staff at the center benefits city residents. “We are glad to have you here,” she said.
Hunschofsky is glad to have her office at the center and that city staff make her feel at home and included.
