Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through August 2, 2021.
Battery
NW 57th Way
On July 28, police responded to a reported disturbance. No domestic relationship existed between victim and suspect. Allegations of a battery. No visible injuries, inconsistent statements, no independent witnesses. The victim gave instructions on how to file a misdemeanor battery with the State Attorney’s Office.
Indecent Exposure
Hillsboro Blvd. and N. State Rd. 7
On July 28, the caller advised incident occurred 3 weeks ago. The older white male subject was j—–g off in his car at the above intersection, looking at her while doing so. The caller saw the subject at the same intersection on 7/27/21, wrote down the license plate. The caller is unwilling to provide personal information, unsure if she wants to file a criminal complaint. Caller advised that the subject sits in the eastbound turn lane to head north on N Sr 7 and makes a u-turn back on Hillsboro by the BJ`s parking lot. Caller concerned for other drivers in the area. The caller wished to remain anonymous. Caller advised that other women have posted on social media about the subject.

On July 28, the caller advised incident occurred last Thursday on 7/22/21, where an older white male subject was j—–g off in his car at the above intersection, looking at her while doing so. The caller was unwilling to provide personal information, unsure if she wants to file a criminal complaint. Caller advised that the subject was in the eastbound turn lane to head north on N Sr7 and left on N Sr 7 toward Boca. Caller concerned for other drivers in the area. The caller wished to remain anonymous. Caller advised that other women have posted on the next door app about the subject.

On July 27, police verified a court order to take weapons from an accused suspect for safekeeping pending trial.

On July 29, ammunition was turned over for safekeeping until the pending case is resolved.
Fraud
NW 78th Pl.
On July 27, a person was the victim of fraud. Tot. Est. Loss: $16,635.
Missing Person
10555 Trails End
On July 29, a deputy was conducting an area check at Trails End Park when the complainant flagged them down, who advised me that he was in the park looking for the missing female juvenile. He said the juvenile left their home that morning at 10:30 a.m. to see some friends. When she did not return at her scheduled time of 1 p.m. for cheerleading practice, he decided to look for her. In an attempt to locate her, the deputy walked the baseball fields on the north end of the park and found her emerging from the women’s restroom. As the deputy approached, she took off, running west toward the Parkland Reservation Subdivision. Shortly after encountering the juvenile and being unable to locate her, she was entered into NCIC/FCIC as a missing person.
Property Damage
W. Cypresshead Dr.
On July 30, a pick-up truck struck a mailbox. The driver stated that he would handle the repairs.
Suspicious Person
Pine Island Rd.
On July 30, a person was taking a video outside school grounds for his YouTube account. He advised he was filming a tribute for some of the victims in the school shooting. He left the property without any further incident.
Theft
Salem Ln.
On July 29, contact was made with the victim, who advised an unknown person(s) stole the sign out of her side yard sometime within the past day. Tot. Est. Loss: $20.
Arrests
Boyd, Dalton James, 28, was arrested on charges of Possession Of Cannabis < 20 Grams on Old Club Rd on 07/29/2021.
Leith, Carl H.H., 49, was arrested on charges of Resist Officer-obstruct Wo Violence on Nob Hill Rd/Parkland Reserve Blvd on 07/30/2021.
