Coconut Creek has established a relationship with a new company to maintain medians and rights-of-way.
During the January 8 meeting, the commission approved a resolution to sign a contract with EDJ Service to provide citywide landscape maintenance services for city-maintained medians and rights-of-way in the amount of $629,301.60. The contract will be for four years commencing on February 1, 2026, with the option to extend the agreement for two additional one-year periods.
The city issued requests for proposals (RFPs) through the eBid System to identify qualified and experienced firms to provide citywide landscape maintenance services, and received seven proposals.
A selection committee including John Tetteris, Public Works Superintendent; Kevin Kelly, Public Works Landscape Leadworker; and Enrique Castro, Parks and Recreation Superintendent, evaluated and ranked the responses in accordance with the criteria listed in the RFP; and after review of the RFP submittals, evaluations, proposed pricing, experience, and value, recommended approval of EDJ, according to city information.
The commission approved the contract with little discussion.
