Adoptive pets and new owners. {Broward County Animal Shelter}

The heartwarming sound of pets finding their forever homes echoed throughout Broward County Animal Care during the Summer National “Empty the Shelters,” where 154 pets were adopted between July 6 and July 31.
The campaign is among its largest initiatives aimed at alleviating the strain on overburdened shelters. In support of the effort, Broward County Animal Care waived adoption fees for the entire month, making it easier for residents to open their homes to a new furry friend.
As a token of appreciation and support, The Bissell Pet Foundation offers grants for every adoption, amounting to $100 for dogs and $50 for cats. With the community’s robust response, Animal Care earned a $4,600 grant, funds earmarked for pet food, medical expenses, and enrichment items.
“The community’s outpouring of support has been nothing short of phenomenal. With over 150 pets finding new homes, it’s a celebratory moment for the adopters, our furry friends, and the entire facility,” said Emily Wood, the Director of Broward County Animal Care.
The success witnessed in Broward County mirrors the nationwide sentiment where an astounding 31,861 pets found homes across the US from 337 participating shelters in 44 states.
