
North Broward Prep Baseball. {NBP Athletics}
The Coconut Creek High School athletic teams head into spring break, highlighted by a triple overtime game and a senior night.
Coconut Creek High School won their final game before the break following a 6-0 win in triple overtime over Miramar High School. This was the Cougar’s second straight victory. They beat Hollywood Hills High School 32-6 in their previous game after losing to Boyd H. Anderson, Coral Springs Charter, Carol City, Nova, and Piper High School.
The Coconut Creek boys’ volleyball team was winless through its first three matches, but it was competitive in two. It lost in five sets against Everglades High School and took one set in its match against Miramar High School. Their other loss came against Pembroke Pines Charter.
Monarch baseball beat Pompano Beach High School for their last victory on Tuesday behind four RBIs from Noel Soledispa. Vinny Maxwell knocked in two, while Juan Londano and Diego Rojas added one. Aidan Mercado pitched a shutout, allowing only two hits and striking out to help the Knights to their fifth win this season. They also have wins this year against Cooper City, Olympic Heights, McArthur, and South Broward High School.

The softball team won 4-1 over South Broward High School on Tuesday, their first win in nearly two weeks. Sammie Rice led the team with three RBIs, while Jayden Uzzo knocked in one. Mia Macaione and Elana Ramirez combined to pitch all seven innings and strike out nine. The Knights are 4-6 this year and have wins in Deerfield Beach, Coral Glades, and Coral Springs High School.
The flag football team dropped their final game heading into the break, falling to Marjory Stoneman Douglas. They have lost four in a row and have 3-7 this year after previously securing wins against David Posnack Jewish Day, Cooper City, and Blanche Ely High School.
The boys’ volleyball team is 6-2 on the season. They have beat Hallandale, Blanche Ely, Spanish River Hollywood Hills, Coral Glades, and Deerfield Beach while dropping matches against St. Thomas Aquinas and Pompano Beach High School. The Knights will play Charles W. Flanagan High School in their next match on April 2.
North Broward Prep will have multiple teams competing next week, but the baseball team still had a strong week. They have 11 wins this year and came off a State Championship last year. Max Burkholz currently leads the team in hitting, and they have also homered nine times this season.
The girls lacrosse team is 10-1 this year and had their only loss against Benjamin High School. They scored at least 10 goals in all their victories, while the boys’ team scored 4-6, following wins against Olympic Heights, West Broward, Palmer Trinity High School, and Coral Reef High School. Their win against the Barracudas came on Senior Nighy as they recognized Max Brownbill, Brandon Moldof, Jeremy Panster, Zachary Cohen, Matthew Routman, Luke Bons, Chandler Ripps, Taylor LemieuxGrant Fawcett, and Georgie Quatela.
The Eagles also have a tennis team. The boys are 4-6 this year with 28 total victories. They beat Oxbridge Academy, Spanish River, Archbishop McCarthy, and David Posnak Jewish Day. The girls team is 2-8, with team victories over Archbishop McCarthy and David Posnak Jewish Day. They have won 18 matches as a team.
The beach volleyball team’s only win in four matches came against Highlands Christian High School. They were swept in their matches against Chamiandde Madonna, Pompano Beach, and Western High School.
