Despite nasty weather throughout the day, high school football teams in Coconut Creek took the field Friday night, with Coconut Creek High School picking up the lone victory.
The Cougars dominated Boyd H. Anderson High School 51-12 to improve to 4-1 this season behind a strong performance from quarterback Everett Butler, who completed eight of nine passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 20 yards and a score. Cayden Delions led the rushing attack with 138 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. Malik Lane added 73 yards and a touchdown, while Kody Thompson rushed for 50 yards and a score on seven carries.
Javon Francois led the receiving corps with four catches for 73 yards and a touchdown, while Jayden Francis added three receptions for 44 yards and a score. Isaiah Calixte also recorded a 12-yard reception.The Cougars were perfect on extra points, with Jonathan Hernandez converting all seven of his attempts and Neo Paul making his lone kick. Coconut Creek will have a week off before facing Monarch High School on Friday, October 2, at 7 p.m. The teams last met in the 2024 Kickoff Classic, with the Knights earning a 34-12 victory.

Monarch suffered a 36-34 loss to Piper High School after falling behind 20-0 early. Keshawn Paschall led the Knights with three rushing touchdowns, while quarterback Jeremiah Millicent connected with Bryan Bynes for two scores. Monarch rallied late but couldn’t recover an onside kick, dropping to 2-2 this season.
The Knights will face Deerfield Beach High School next Friday, September 25, at 7 p.m. The Bucks started the season 4-0 before suffering a 6-0 overtime loss to Blanche Ely High School. Deerfield Beach went 1-9 last season, including a 48-10 loss to Monarch.
North Broward Prep also fell, losing 33-14 to Saint Andrew’s School. With kickoff moved up due to a power outage, Christian Deering scored the Eagles’ first touchdown before Ralph Diaz added a rushing score in the second half.
NBP dropped to 1-4 and will travel to face Westminster Academy on Friday, September 25, at 7 p.m. The Lions are 4-1 this season, with their lone loss coming by one point against Episcopal School of Jacksonville in their season opener.
