
Jordan Thompson and Tevin Southerland sign to compete in college. {CC Athletics}
Coconut Creek High School celebrated a major milestone as two football players officially signed to compete at the collegiate level: Jordan Thompson and Tevin Southerland.
Thompson will attend the University of Southern Mississippi after a standout senior season with the Cougars. He rushed for 722 yards on 109 carries and scored 10 touchdowns. Thompson also contributed in the passing game, catching 18 passes for 329 yards and three additional scores. His performance helped lead Coconut Creek to a 9–3 record and a trip to the regional semifinals.
Southerland, a three-year contributor for Coconut Creek, signed with St. Thomas University. He made his impact on the defensive side of the ball, ranking fourth on the team in tackles. Southerland also recorded four sacks and added eight tackles for loss during the season.
