Coconut Creek High School football is back, playing Miramar High School in their first game on Friday night, and recorded a 22-12 win.
The Coconut Creek Cougars went 4-6 last year but managed to still reach the playoffs before losing to Blanche Ely High School. They had wins against Boyd H Anderson, Deerfield Beach, Miramar, and Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
Coconut Creek had an early lead over Monarch High School in the Kickoff Classic Game, but fell 29-26. They will be playing Piper High School in their next game on Friday, August 29, at 7 p.m.
Piper went 10-2, including a playoff win against Doral Academy, but lost 41-0 in their last matchup. They ended up falling to West Broward and had their only other loss come against Monarch High School.
